![]() Tourism and Archaeology Department (TAD) has emphasized on promoting religious tourism in Punjab with special attention to be given to 11 historical places sacred for various faiths. In this regard a meeting was held where it was explained that under the Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth Project (PTEGP), on-site management studies of 11 historical sites including Gurdawara Nankana Sahib, Sacha Sauda, Taxila Museum, Darbar Khwaja Ghulam Farid and Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh were done. Moreover, the PTEGP was rehabilitating six roads leading to religious sites, which are expected to be completed by June 2021. It was discussed in meeting that a mosque in Lahore was being rehabilitated by a private owner. During the meeting the Deputy Secretary Minorities Affairs Department told about road's reconstruction in Mariamabad, Sheikhupura through PTEGP. Four Gurdawaras are being restored in Jehlum as well. The Deputy Director ETPB mentioned that MOUs were being processed with the Tourism Department for rehabilitation of Bradlaugh Hall in Lahore. And undivided attention is being given on the promotion of religious tourism at Kartarpur. |
